Conditions Treated
The range of conditions that can be addressed by TCM is as varied as the human body itself, just as is the range of conditions that can be addressed with Western Medicine. This is because TCM is a total approach to health care. Of course, there are some things that acupuncture needles and herbs can't do, like set a broken leg. However, acupuncture and herbs can help to relieve the pain associated with the fracture and the healing process. And a total TCM approach can help to bring your whole system into balance so that you can better deal with whatever condition you might have.
The National Institutes of Health have declared that acupuncture has been proven effective for certain conditions involving pain and nausea, and that they expect research to formally establish a wide range of additional benefits in the future. In China, TCM doctors have been treating everything from frozen shoulder to depression for thousands of years. In China's ultramodern hospitals today, mainstream Western physicians and TCM doctors work side by side to provide optimal health care for patients with all types of conditions.
